Dr. Roberta & Mr. James Wilburn will discuss the importance of Juneteenth and its historical context.
The purpose of this presentation is to highlight the importance of Juneteenth and why it is celebrated. The historical context for celebrating Juneteenth will be discussed as well as why it is so significant to African Americans. The presentation will also share different ways Juneteenth is celebrated around the country and a new movement to make Juneteenth a national holiday.
