Join us for a talk with one of our Artists-In-Residence, Tamalin Baumgarten, to learn about her art process and inspiration.
Tamalin has been painting in oils for over 15 years and loves the medium because of the way she can create flawless surfaces and work with small details in her paintings to create quiet landscapes of tonal, melancholic realism. Join us to meet Tamalin and learn more about her paintings, the inspiration behind them and hear about her techniques and work practice. After her artist talk, guests can visit her studio to see (in person) the paintings she’s been working on during her time as an Artist-In-Residence at The Hive.
More about Tamalin: she received her MFA from New York Academy of Art in 2015 and her BFA from Cornish College of the Arts in 2010. She has been the recipient of several awards, including two Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant Awards, the Portrait Scholarship Award from the New York Academy of Art, the Dahesh Museum of Art Award, and the Vermont Studio Center grant award. She is also the Co-founder and Director of the Cuttyhunk Island Artists’ Residency, located on Massachusetts’ Cuttyhunk Island, the inspiration for many of her paintings.
You can learn more about Tamlin on her website, or follow her on Instagram.
