This 2-hour workshop will help you learn tools that you can take with you into your relationships, workplaces, families, etc. for improved communication and deeper empathy.
There are many aspects to a strong relationship, and while we often talk about how to communicate, something everyone can work on is how to listen.
As we think about mental health, we recognize the importance it is to talk but also to listen and we hope these workshops can help promote healthy listening skills to further impact our mental health.
We welcome Mary Toutonghi, a mixed heritage-- West Asian, North African, and European elder woman. She was born and raised in Seattle and has lived there most of her life. She has been teaching and leading in movements for liberation for at least 20 years, but first became an activist around age 9! Peer-counseling and deep listening have been major contributors to her own personal growth and to the success of many movements to end societal oppression. She has used and taught these tools in anti-racism work, working to end the climate crisis, in her own field of education, and many others.
Here is a brief description of this workshop:
RSVP here and join us in this space where we will learn tools that we can take with us into our relationships, workplaces, families, etc. for improved communication and deeper empathy.
