Join local novelist Sharma Shields for a fun, outdoorsy writing workshop at Riverside State Park.
We'll meet at the Bowl & Pitcher Kitchen Shelter/day-use area of beautiful Riverside State Park, where local novelist and Spokane Public Library Writing Education Specialist Sharma Shields will share writing prompts inspired by wildness and wilderness. Bring your favorite journal/pen combo or your laptop and be ready to write! This workshop might involve a short journey to the pedestrian bridge. Dress for the weather and come prepared with a thermos of coffee and/or a bottle of water as needed (there is a drinking fountain nearby, and restrooms).
This is a generative, not a critiquing, workshop. We'll focus on inspiration, imagination, and creative play. This is a great workshop for writers at ALL stages of their writing career, even those who haven't yet started writing!
Note: Parking at Riverside State Park requires use of a Discover Pass or payment at the booth upon entry. A one-day parking pass is $10. You can check out a Discover Pass from the library (if not already checked out) here. There is also at the library a "Checkout Washington" backpack that includes a Discover Pass.
By attending library programs, you are agreeing to potentially appear in photos/videos taken at our locations that may be used in promotional materials including social media.
