Come join local scientists and learn how to extract DNA from food! This program is intended for kids ages 9-18, and 6-8 with an adult.
Discovering DNA walks participants through the six steps of the scientific method and shows them how to extract DNA from a strawberry. Ever wonder what DNA looked like with your naked eye? Do you want to know how much DNA is in a piece of fruit? Come join local scientists and learn how to extract DNA from food! A demonstration AND active hands-on experiment will be provided for attendees.
Participants will be provided with worksheets to take home and instructions on how to do this experiment at home.
