Watercolor Painting to Quiet Anxious Times

Hands-on creative practices to help with anxious feelings

A workshop led by Hive Artist-In-residence Katie Creyts that takes a brief look at the neuroscience behind anxiety and how structured or guided creativity can help.

This workshop will explore a bit of the neuroscience behind anxiety and consider creative practice as a way to calm our minds.  You will then be guided through a series of watercolor exercises that can help keep stress and anxiety at bay.  The neuroscience for this workshop is based on the book, Your Brain on Art by Susan Magsamen and Ivy Ross. As an artist, Katie Creyts, has interpreted the book's research into applicable guided watercolor painting exercises.

Please note: this workshop is not a substitute for clinical therapy.

All materials will be supplied but please dress for painting or bring an apron. We do have some aprons to loan if you need one during class.
