Looking for something fun, new, and different? Join us for this beginning-level and beyond Egyptian-style Belly Dance class taught by experienced teacher Marya Nowakowski. Marya has previously taught through ACT2 and Belly Fest.
Movement, music, culture and history weave a fascinating tapestry of rhythm, entrancing melody, and expressive dance. We will cover movement basics of Egyptian style Raks Sharki (Belly Dance) and other folk dances such as Beledi, Saidi, and Nubian.
This dance provides gentle core toning, improves balance, posture, and confidence. Class includes warm-up, dance technique and routines, rhythms, music, and cultural notes. Come have fun learning Belly Dance with an experienced teacher. Wear workout or yoga clothes. Sparkly hip sashes available to use during class.
