An intergenerational concert blending live music and singalongs to celebrate memory and community—plus a tree dedication, Native blessing, and hands-on instrument “petting zoo.”
Experience a special intergenerational concert celebrating the powerful connection between music, memory, and community. Inspired by musical memories shared by library patrons, this unique performance blends live music and guided singalongs designed especially to uplift and connect people across generations, including those living with dementia. The program is presented in partnership with Spokane Symphony, Spokane Public Library, and Song Trees, a UK nonprofit initiative of the Music Mind Spirit Trust.
Song Trees was founded by Spokane native Dr. JC (Chika) Robertson, a Shadle Park High School graduate and professor of violin at the Royal Academy of Music. She returns home alongside her husband, internationally acclaimed director Mark Ross Clark, to collaborate with Spokane Symphony musicians. The Symphony will also host a musical instrument “petting zoo” in support of the concert.
