A poetry workshop inspired by textiles and fabric arts. This event is part of the Inland Northwest Poetry Salon.
Stories have always been woven into fabric. From the creation of the fabric itself to the way it shifts and changes once worn, textiles hold the power to tell countless tales. In this workshop, participants will explore craft in the most literal sense. They will receive prompts centered around fabric, which they will then assemble into a makeshift quilt of their own. This process draws inspiration from works like Women in Clothes by Heidi Julavits, Leanne Shapton, and Sheila Heti, as well as poets such as Victoria Adukwei Bulley and Francesca Capone.
About the presenter: Annastacia Stegall is a poet and MFA graduate in Creative Writing from Eastern Washington University. She currently serves as an adjunct instructor at Spokane Falls Community College, teaching English Composition and Literature. Her work has appeared in publications such as #Ranger, Afflatus Apparatus (A2), Bifrost, and Expressions. Annastacia resides in the Inland Northwest with her feisty cat, Roscoe.
