Join us for a monthly 'salon' centered around the rights and responsibilities of citizenship in the United States. This month's focus is ChatGPT!
Join Spokane Public Library's Current Affairs Specialist, Shane Gronholz, for a monthly 'salon' centered around discussions on what you believe the rights and responsibilities of citizenship in the United States are.
Spokane Civics Salon meets from 2:00-3:30 PM on the last Sunday of every month. Each Salon will be focused on a particular text.
This month's text is ChatGPT!
What is ChatGPT?
According to ChatGPT itself, "ChatGPT is an advanced artificial intelligence language model developed by OpenAI, capable of understanding prompts and generating human-like text based on patterns it learned during its training."
(Note: This salon requires no preparation. We'll ask it questions in real-time.)
Why ChatGPT?
Because ChatGPT does not have personal beliefs, biases, or affiliations, it is designed to provide responses based on its training data, which encompasses a wide array of perspectives. This impartiality can help facilitate balanced discussions and highlight different viewpoints on a topic. It can be instructive to ask ChatGPT contentious and divisive moral and political questions, as it can provide a balanced overview of various perspectives, encourage critical thinking, and stimulate a more comprehensive and nuanced exploration of the issues at hand.
