A workshop to help with editing the first draft of a novel. This is a Lilac City Book Festival presentation, organized by Spokane Public Library in partnership with Wishing Tree Books and SCBWI.
In this workshop, local author Kris Dinnison will share strategies for the writing and editing of a novel-length manuscript. This event is part of the first annual Lilac City Book Festival.
The Lilac City Book Festival is a yearly event to support local writers and illustrators of books for children and teenagers. It's organized by Spokane Public Library and presented in partnership with Wishing Tree Books and the local chapter of the Society for Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).
About the presenter: Kris Dinnison spent nearly two decades as a teacher and librarian while dreaming of becoming a writer. Her work has appeared in One Teen Story, The London Journal of Fiction, HelloGiggles, YARN, The Inlander and The Spokesman Review, among others. She lives and writes here in Spokane. Her first novel, You and Me and Him, came out in 2015 from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.
