Join us for workshops that will equip youth with strategies for self-care and community care.
The Youth Self-Care Summit is an interactive conference-style event that celebrates young women of color (age 11-17) from around the community. Through a partnership with YWCA Spokane and Strong Women Achieving Greatness (SWAG), three educational workshops will be offered to participants with a special focus on building community and learning strategies to take care of ourselves and each other. The summit will feature a keynote speech from Jaime Stacy, founder of SWAG, outlining 12 ways to celebrate yourself and defining "strong" as being able to know our limits and accept help from others. Each participant will be provided with lunch and a goody bag filled with self-care items.
The Self-Care Summit aims to support youth in learning: 1.The importance of self-care to increase capacity for helping others. 2.How to move from self-care to community care. 3.What it means to be strong. 4.How to celebrate yourself. 5.What our own limitations and needs are from the community.
