Shawn Vestal, a novelist who has won the WA State Book Award in Fiction, offers a workshop on how to dive in and begin a novel. This workshop is part of 'Novel Day' at the Liberty Park Library.
Happy Novel Day! Novel Day is a celebration of the craft of writing novels, featuring workshops and panels presented by some of the most beloved novelists in our region.
In this Novel Day workshop, attendees will learn some strategies for getting started on writing their novels.
About the presenter: Shawn Vestal is the author of the novel Daredevils, which won the Washington State Book Award in 2016; the short-story collection Godforsaken Idaho, which won the PEN/Robert W. Bingham prize in 2014; and the memoir A.K.A. Charles Abbott. A former columnist at The Spokesman-Review, he now works as the lead science writer for Washington State University. He is a graduate of the Eastern Washington University MFA program, where he now teaches, and lives in Spokane with his wife and son.
