Learn how to handle wildlife encounters with WA Department of Wildlife Biologist Reagan Harris, from injured deer to raccoons under your porch. Find out how to live peacefully alongside wildlife.
What should you do if you find an injured deer in your yard? Or if a bear starts rummaging through your garbage cans? Maybe a family of raccoons has decided to move in under your porch?
Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife Biologist Reagan Harris knows how to handle these situations—and she’s here to share her expertise. As one of 17 Wildlife Conflict Specialists across the state, Reagan helps residents find solutions to everyday wildlife encounters, from injured animals to property damage.
She’ll share what a day in the life of a Wildlife Conflict Specialist looks like, the types of calls she receives, and how she works with landowners to reduce and prevent wildlife conflicts.
Originally from Snohomish County, Reagan earned her B.S. in Wildlife Resources from the University of Idaho and has worked on projects involving Mexican wolves and greater sage-grouse. Now based in Spokane, she serves Spokane, Lincoln, and Whitman Counties helping communities coexist with wildlife.
