Come check out The Hive during First Friday Art Walk!
The artists-in-residence have been diligently working in their studios and invite the public to come see their progress during First Friday Artwalk! Come visit their studios and check out their work. Tours of the building will also be available. The current creators at The Hive are:
Studio A: Eric-Alain Parker likes to paint and draw and takes most of his inspiration from nature. Reptiles, fish and birds and their surrounding feature prominently in his work.
Studio B: Jesse Peck and Lesley Crane are sharing a studio. Jesse's practice includes drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, and illustration. Lesley's drawing practice uses aspects of performance to create process drawings that link internal ontologies with external aesthetics.
Studio C: Tamalin Baumgarten works with oils, painting quiet landscape scenes with a tonal, melancholic realism. Her paintings look like places you long to be, a place you miss from your past.
Studio D: Carl Richardson and Mardis Nenno. Carl and Mardis are working on some large pieces for a show together later in the year. Carl primarily is a print maker but also draws and works with collage. Mardis' favorite medium is clay and her work ranges from small, beautifully decorated vessels to large sculptures created from many parts.
