A presentation by published illustrator Jimei Lin, part of the Lilac City Book Festival, organized by Spokane Public Library and presented in partnership with SCBWI and Wishing Tree Books.
Award-winning artist Jimei Lin presents and discusses the gorgeous illustrations in her recently published picture books.
About the presenter:
Jiemei Lin is an artist born in Hangzhou, China, currently living and working in the Inland Northwest, Washington State. Lin works with both digital media and traditional media to create paintings, murals, and illustrations. Her works frequently take on themes of individual and cultural identity with a particular emphasis on design and color. Lin’s mission as an Illustrator is to represent and communicate with all audiences from underrepresented groups in her own visual language. Lin is the author and illustrator of "Goodnight, Zodiac animals" (Candlewick press) and the illustrator of "The Rock in my throat" (The Lerner publishing).
The Lilac City Book Festival is a yearly event to support local writers and illustrators of books for children and teenagers. It's organized by Spokane Public Library and presented in partnership with Wishing Tree Books and the local chapter of the Society for Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).
