A writing workshop that explores the concept of "home." This event is part of the Inland Northwest Poetry Salon.
Poetry and writing not only have the ability to center us, but also to help us find what memories, places, and people create our sense of home. Poet Heather Woolery will share a portion of her personal story and how a difficult, lonely childhood sent her on a lifelong journey asking the question, “What is home?” Attendees will generate their own work and develop a foundation for crafting works of poetry and prose that dive deep into the truly authentic aspects of home and place.
This poetry workshop is part of the annual Inland Northwest Poetry Salon.
About the presenter: Heather Woolery is a graduate of the University of Idaho in Fine Art and Creative Writing, having read and written for literary magazine Fugue. During her time at the University of Idaho, she explored the concept of “home” for her thesis through works of both sculptural art, photography and prose writing. She went on to pursue a diverse range of creative mediums from writing poetry and prose, running a successful photography business, teaching art classes around the Inland Northwest and working as a creative director.
