Central Events AJoin local author Jack Nisbet for a slideshow exploring early visitors’ journals and artwork—and what they reveal about the Spokane watershed, ecology, fish, and human landscape.
Join local author Jack Nisbet for a slideshow that examines journal entries and artwork from early white visitors to the Spokane watershed. Part of our focus will be on what these images reveal about the ecology of the river, its fish, and the human landscape that surrounded them. We will also think about where each visitor came from and what they might have missed.
Following the event, you can view the 3rd Floor exhibit, "Spokane River Salmon: Past, Present, and Future," which features the artwork of George Hill as well as information from the Spokane Tribe Anadromous Program.
By attending library programs, you are agreeing to potentially appear in photos/videos taken at our locations that may be used in promotional materials including social media.
We strive to make events welcoming for people of all abilities. To request accommodations (i.e. hearing assistance, ASL requests, or other ADA inquiries), email sday@spokanelibrary.org.
