Celebrate the joy of gardening with Spokane's gardening icon Phyllis Stephens. This talk encompasses the many aspects of gardening - a befitting last talk with the iconic Inland Empire Gardeners.
Gardening is a great hands-on experience with nature. Working with the soil, smelling the plants and dirt, feeling the different textures, and seeing all the green foliage and flowers can help relax the mind and ground yourself. When you ground yourself, you reduce stress, anxiety, and even built-up anger. The act of nurturing a living thing and watching it grow can also be a tremendous source of pride and fulfillment. It's a combination of the physical and the spiritual working together to provide a sense of peace and tranquility.
Gardening teaches us so many things about nature - sustainability, community, and love. Celebrate the joy of gardening with us as we celebrate the last public presentation by The Inland Empire Gardeners. After 30 incredible years that catapulted many passionate gardeners into a gardening frenzy and made unforgettable memories for meeting attendees, the Inland Empire Gardeners will dissolve as a club.
Spokane Public Library thanks The Inland Empire Gardeners for many wonderful collaborations, both in and out of the garden!
