Learn how to transform wool roving into beautiful beads that can be made into zipper pulls, jewelry, or other decorations.
The Stranded Spinners, Artists-In-Residence at The Hive® are experts on all things fiber...cloth fiber that is! They recently participated in the Spokane County Fair's Sheep to Shawl competition and won the top prize!
During this workshop, they will guide participants in the joyful transformation of wool roving into a felted bead. These beads can be used as adornments for all sorts of things. Make a bunch and string them together as a garland, or one that can be attached to a zipper on a coat or two for earrings. Anything goes!
This program is appropriate for ages 5 to adult! If a child attends, caregivers will be asked to stay to assist their youth. Registration for the program helps us know how many supplies to have on hand but is not required.
Join us for fun with wool and felting! We have two sessions listed: one starting at 1pm and another starting at 2pm so we can stagger attendees. Plan for an hour to 90 minutes for the process depending on how many beads you make.
By attending library programs, you are agreeing to potentially appear in photos/videos taken at our locations that may be used in promotional materials including social media.
