Join us for a panel discussion by Spokane Preservation Advocates that will highlight their history and current advocacy activities.
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world.” ~Margaret Mead
Spokane Preservation Advocates' slogan has been proven true (in Spokane!) many times over. Learn how they do it by joining us for a panel discussion on “Advocacy and Historic Preservation,” highlighting SPA’s history and current advocacy activities. Special guest Chris Moore, Executive Director of the Washington Trust for Historic Preservation, will talk about best practices in advocacy. We will also discuss financial and other incentives to save historic buildings and preserve community character. Additional guests will be Karen Dorn Steele, winner of the 2022 Ann Price Advocacy Award and former advocacy committee chair, Jesse Bank, current advocacy chair, and Megan Duvall, Spokane City and County Historic Preservation Officer.
Registration is required for this event. https://www.spokanepreservation.org/events/event/2023-winter-lecture-series-3-advocacy-and-historic-preservation/
