In light of the ongoing Russian military aggression and consequent human rights crisis in Ukraine, visiting scholar Lance Rhoades shares his experiences and observations visiting western Ukraine shortly after Russia annexed Crimea and declared eastern provinces independent. While there, he noted people’s fears and resolve regarding Russia’s future plans, which the world is now witnessing.
