Certified yoga teacher Renee will lead a gentle yoga practice with a brief guided imagery at the end. Wear loose clothing and bring a mat or towel.
Reduce stress and build resilience with a breath practice, gentle stretching and short holds. Options and pose modifications will be offered throughout. Mobility aids are welcome (blocks, chair, cane, etc.). Balance poses offer students a chance to explore effort vs. ease. A brief guided imagery concludes the practice.
Yoga can help ease back pain, increase flexibility, and gain strength. It can also help improve balance, joint mobility, and quality of sleep. You don't have to bend like a pretzel to do yoga. If you can breathe, you can do yoga. Give it a try!
About the Instructor: Renee is a graduate of the Veterans Yoga Project Mindful Resilience yoga teacher training. Yoga was not “love at first sight,” so she has a diverse background. She enjoys meeting people “where they’re at,” recognizing we’re all different in physicality and experience. Yoga helped Renee find greater acceptance of self. She is engaging and enjoys helping students feel empowered. Renee is a Marine Corps veteran, artist, and an animal foster-mom. Her favorite place to relax is the Little Spokane River.
