Printing with Junk (Recyclables, Scraps, and Found Objects)
With Artist-In-Residence, Sarah Louise Windisch
Saturday, July 11
10:00am - 12:00pm
The Hive
Studio ETry some easy printmaking techniques using packaging and other household objects—accessible and fun for all ages!
Join Artist-In-Residence, Sarah Louise Windisch for a fun printmaking class where she'll show you how printmaking can be done with junk! Well, not all junk, but things like tetrapak containers and plastic from the recycle bin, as well as other things that might be just tossed. Printmaking, in this way, is very accessible and easy to do for all ages. Plus, it's a lot of fun.
We will supply all materials, though you can bring your own pre-carved block if you have one you want to work with. Beginners are welcome.
About Sarah: Sarah Louise Windisch is a printmaker, shirt-slinger, and recovering music teacher turned full-time art goblin. She says about her work, “My work lives somewhere between rebellion and ridiculous joy. I carve lino blocks, sling ink, and press out limited-run prints that are loud, handmade, and a little feral—just the way I like it.” Her residency at the Hive went way too fast but she is looking forward to teaching and sharing her love of color and printmaking with class attendees!
