Using mixed media to create faux-wooden wands or staffs. No woodworking skills or tools required!
You don't need a special acceptance letter, or a magical tome to reveal a new magical realm (although we've got plenty to pick from) to make your own wand or "wooden" staff. We'll provide the materials; chopsticks, pvc piping, air dry clay, and paints. You provide your own magical touch by making it your own. There will be a demo on how to use the clay, prepare and prime your wand or staff for painting, and painting techniques to mimic wood grain. We provide aprons, but wear clothes you don't mind getting paint on in case things get a tad messy.
Caretakers are expected to stay in the room if their young ones are age 12 or younger.
By attending library programs, you are agreeing to potentially appear in photos/videos taken at our locations that may be used in promotional materials including social media.
We strive to make events welcoming for people of all abilities. To request accommodations, call the library at 509-444-5308.
