Spokane Public Library has partnered with the Spokane Calligraphy Guild to put on the exhibit, “Calligraphy: The Art of Beautiful Lettering". Most of the displayed materials are from guild members, with supplemental items from the library’s Inland Northwest Special Collection (beautiful lettering has long been in practice in the art of books!).
During the reception, you can talk with members about calligraphy, learn about tools of the trade, and find out about the Guild. Guild members will be on hand to calligraph your name for free and talk about their practice.
Schedule of events:
1:00pm - Opening remarks
1:30 - 3pm - Browse exhibit and get your name calligraphed by guild members.
Whether your writing is chicken-scratch, curlicues, or typewritten, you’ll want to check out this gorgeous exhibit celebrating the art of lettering.
