Have you ever wanted to start blacksmithing? This is a great introduction to the hobby. Tour CFI's setup, learn about tools and safety, and forge a useable nail!
Attendees will get to tour Spokane's blacksmithing club, Columbia Fire and Iron (CFI)'s studio setup at the Hive, where they are currently artists-in-residence. View and learn about club tools, books, and projects. Attendees will also have the opportunity to forge a traditional square nail, learning to use various parts of the anvil and a few hand tools to taper, cut, head, and quench steel into a usable nail.
Who can attend:
This program is designed for adults, but high school-aged teens may also participate with the following requirements:
Registration required. Please only register for one session, so more people have a chance to try this technique!
